I have used Monat skin care products for over two years. They are great! When Monat launched their vegan skincare line, I was so excited! If you’ve read any of my previous Monat skin care reviews posts, I am very transparent and strive to provide you with an unbiased, honest review. For this Monat skin care reviews, I tested three products in total, and I plan to continue testing the rest of the line in the near future!
Monat skincare is the latest addition to the Monat line of products introduced in 2014. The company began as a hair products company but over time ventured into skincare products.
How do you choose the best skin care products of 2022?
Monat – What Is It?
“Monat” means “modern nature”. It was founded in 2014 by Venezualan-born Luis Urdaneta. When the company was founded, it carried natural hair care products, which were added to the skincare collection in September 2019. The company sells its products directly to consumers through its sales consultants and heavily relies on social media marketing. It has been reported that their products helped reverse hair loss and bald spots in some users.
How Does Monat Work?
The philosophy of Monat is to tap into the power of botanicals. According to Jamie Ross, Monat’s Senior VP Research and Development, in a statement, “Through extensive clinical testing, we have combined high-performance botanical ingredients with cutting-edge scientific research to create safe, age-prevention products based on natural ingredients.”
Monat’s hair care products are designed to restore and replenish hair that has suffered damage from sunlight, chemical reactions, or aging. The skincare products also have anti-aging properties, containing botanical oils, fruit, and peptides as well as plant stem cells.
Monat’s Rejuveniqe Oil Intensive is one of its key products. Monat describes it as a “clinically proven blend of exceptional, potent botanical oils sourced from different parts of the world that are combined with Abyssinian oil to enhance the effectiveness of the product.” Monat’s hair care products contain this oil, as well as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega 3 fatty acids, nutrients, and amino acids.

Monat skin care reviews
The skincare line focuses on anti-aging, with ingredients to firm, smooth, thin, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and age spots. A Monat skincare routine follows a four-step process: cleanse, prepare, target and replenish. A collection is meant for dry or sensitive skin, and the other is for normal or combination skin. You can mix and match products. Let’s take a closer look.
Cleanser Cream – This product is a cream cleanser that can be used twice daily and is formulated to provide a deep clean without over drying the skin. Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) and peptides are contained in the cleanser.
Revitalizing Essence of Skin – After cleansing, an essence should be applied, then rubbed into the skin to prepare it for the next product. This essence contains a soothing extract of chamomile and AHAs.
Nectar Avert Ageing – It smoothes and brightens the skin, as well as reducing wrinkles, age spots, and loss of elasticity. Kakadu plum, Rejuvenique oil, peptides, and AHAs are included in the formula.
Moisturizer – This cream can be applied in the morning and at night, as well as helping to minimize fine lines.
Foamy Cleanser – Developed for normal and combination skin, this foamy cleanser cleanses and softens your skin with antioxidants and fruit acids.
HYALURONIC ACID – This moisturizer’s key ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the skin throughout the day. The combination of Rejuvenique and plant stem cells softens the appearance of fine lines.
How cruelty-free is Monat?
Monat’s products are cruelty free, vegan, and naturally based.
What are the ingredients in Monat products?
Monat’s philosophy revolves around the power of botanicals, fruit oils, stem cells derived from plants, and an exclusive peptide. Monat is known for its Rejuvenique Oil, which is found in its hair care and skin care products. Monat describes it as a “magic multi-tasking elixir” that uses Abyssinian oil (derived from an Ethiopian flower) and contains more than thirteen natural oils rich in omega fatty acids and antioxidants, including meadowfoam, coconut oil, lime oil and bergamot oil. It can be used to treat hair, face, and body.
Other ingredients in Monat products include skincare staples such as hyaluronic acid, AHAs and peptides, as well as ginger root and bisabolol (a chamomile-derived oil), as well as beet root and chamomile extracts in the Skin Revitalizing Essence.
What is the best place to buy Monat products?
Directly to consumers, Monat is sold through its website as well as through its network of sales consultants.
There are many Monat haircare reviews, most of which are polarizing. Those who like it like it, while some say the haircare products cause hair loss. Over 900 complaints have been filed against Monat with the Better Business Bureau, mostly about refunds, along with a few complaints about hair loss. Several class action lawsuits alleging hair loss were filed against Monat in 2018.
Only 5% of Monat’s consultants make money at all, in spite of its claims of empowerment. That means the company makes the majority of its income by signing on people who earn nothing. I wouldn’t support that, even if the products were excellent.
It’s a good thing they’re not!
